Faulty parking sensors

Audi A3 2009 1.6L petrol. My battery died a couple of days ago and after a roll start my parking sensors are not working, When putting the car into reverse my reverse light activates and I get a longer high pitched beep for a few seconds but no sensor guidance, any suggestions to get them working again?

Do a battery of for 5 minutes then back on, retest.

Could be a sensor or module fault, ideally diagnostics would show.

Whereabouts are you based?

Do you also have start/stop?
If yes does it work with the new battery?
Iirc start/stop and parking sensors module share the same line/system or something.
so it might not be a problem in your parking aid system.

I do not have start/stop and did not replace the battery

okay ill give that a try, would a dead battery somehow manage to damage any hardware? Im based in Manchester

You should check with VCDS which error you have.
it could be anything from a faulty sensor to a problem on the module.
