Fault Code P0016

My timing chain tensioner went 2 weeks ago causing damage to my inlet valves.
Picked car up last Thursday after repair was complete. (New inlet valves, head skimmed, new timing chain & tensioner)
20 minutes later when I turned the car off then back on, an engine light came on. I also noticed the car was not starting as quickly as it used too.

Scanned with my OBD reader & Carista app and it gave the code P0016 - camshaft sensor.

Took car back to garage this morning and they said they would replace the camshaft sensor.
Picked car up this evening with no light on, until I turned it off and back on, and then the engine light came on again!
Scanned with OBD reader and the same code P0016 came up again.

Anyone have any ideas wtf is going on? (Oil consumption issue was done by Audi in Nov 2013)

Incorrectly timed engine would be my guess.

I have no idea what that even means. How would I find that out?

It is the cam belt timing. Its done via vcds after a belt is replaced.

I'd ask the same question to the garage that did the work. And if they ask the same as you did "what's that" take the car to someone who does know. Or get them to as part of the repair you've already paid for
