Fault Code 2230 - Sensor For Transmission Input Speed 2

Hi guys. I'm looking for abit of help with a fault code that comes on my Audi A5 2.7tdi Auto 58 plate. I have recently had a gearbox malfunction ok to continue driving pop up on the dash. So far I've been told it could be the speed sensor, Ecu repair needed even a possible driveshaft. The code is P171E 00 (236).
Any bit of help would be great

Hey Manny, I've got the same error on my 2012 A7. Did you manage to get yours sorted?...Please tell me it wasn't a new gearbox?...I've been told that it'll be £3k-£4k!
