Hi All,

Recently noticed my fans have been coming on during short journeys when the temp is reading as it should. Just today the temp gauge started to rise past 90 to 120. I put the heaters on and it dropped down back to 90.

It’s a B8 2010 S4 mileage is 82000.

I’ve had a quick search and it looks like it could be a thermostat or water pump issue. What do you guys think?

I’ve can’t get my usual Indy to look at it until next Tuesday. My issue is I’m driving to the Lake District from Bristol this Friday. Is it safe to take my car?

Thanks

I would not risk it incase you cook the engine.

You checked all fluid levels.

Get a cheap rental for lake district
Is my opinion.

Hope you get it sorted

What Marky007 said.

It's crap timing but that last thing you want is to be stuck at the side of the road because the temp will not come down.

Yes all levels are good.
I might see if Audi can fit me in any earlier to take a look.

Probably water pump, or as said before a stuck closed thermostat.

Ive also seen these had temperature rises because of stuck auxilary water pumps but never that high.
