Fans run after switching off 2.0tdi

Got a 2013 2.9tdi mk2 TT today, noticed it ran the fans for quite some time after turning off and locking. Is this normal?!

I believe the car was mid way through a DPF regeneration. As you turned the car off early the car was cooling itself down as the temperature involved are crazy around 600 degrees

Thanks, i had a brand new A3 in 2008 and then an A4 in 2010 and I didn't recall either of them doing it. Went on for just over 5 mins in the end. Car seems fine though!

Out of interest has your car had the "emissions update" by Audi?

My A4 used to do this as well, all to do with the regeneration as said above, good run on the motorway should sort it
