I believe my right-hand side exhaust valve is not working, is there any way to check this before taking it to a garage or dealer?

You can get a friend to switch modes for you and listen out close to the right side for the mechanical actuation sound/tone change

Engine on and get the other person to switch from comfort/auto to dynamic, it should be fairly obvious if it functioning correctly, the left side will always sound louder than the right though FYI just a product of the internal construction.
