Exhaust options for A4 b7 Quattro Avant 2.0tfsi

Hi all,
After a bit of advice as my exhaust is starting to give up the ghost. It's the original exhaust and I've been trying to find a replacement and been quoted £2000 as it's only a direct Audi part and i cant find any alternatives through usual car parts suppliers.
I have been looking at stainless but will be on parental leave for a few months so pennies are starting to count.
What options do i have?

In all honesty there's not much choice for us out there compared to other manufactures, there's also BCS Automotive that makes them but there webpage is off line at the moment....I keep meaning to get in touch with Nigel for ages as one of my best mates is one of his neighbours and knows him really well and he used to be a sponsor of my old Focus RS forum.

Try contacting him on here @BCS Nige unless he see's this and responds. If you do see this Nigel it's Filler Phil that I've known for years....

Thanks both, car is a 2005 and has 120k on it and it only cost me £1600 so hesitant about spending nearly half of it's value on an exhaust system. Does have FSH though.
I have spoken to local custom exhaust specialist and around £500 send to be going rate. Was wondering if there were cheaper options available to me.
Will a decat really affect the emissions that much?

If you don't have a friendly MOT station, I would advise against a decat. Mine charges me an extra £20 to 'turn a blind eye' in regards to the missing CAT.

To be fair, you've got the car at a bargain price. You won't find anything cheaper, unless you find a second hand milltek or other custom exhaust on eBay.

That's a bit naughty.....mine only charges me £30 for the full MOT and a poke in the eye......I mean for him to turn a blind eye.

I'm looking into exhaust options at the moment too. Spoke to the guys at EMP Performance about getting a custom side exit system, got quoted £550 cat back and £1100 turbo back (inc 3" downpipe). Still undecided but either way it's giving me the time to save the pennies

Thanks for that. I did think i got a bargain when i bought it. Exhaust was on the way out but had been patched so didn't notice it until a few weeks later.
