MOT due soon and pre inspection has flagged up needing a replacement exhaust from after the cat, which I replaced last year. New is going to be expensive from what I understand, and at this stage in the cars life, I'm not prepared to put huge sums into it. Quite happy to go used to keep it on the road for a bit longer.
My question is -
a) does anyone know what I can bolt on? eg - there are plenty of 1.8t variants in the B6 era.
As long as I get a twin box from a 1.8t Quattro saloon car, am I good to go? - I presume Cab/ Avant / Saloon vary a bit ,and quattro/ non quattro cars do too?
b) Did the same exhaust carry into the B7 2.0 fsi - from what I've seen on eBay they look similar but obviously need to research properly?
