Exhaust flaps

Hi all,

Wondering if anyone has opened the exhaust flaps through the VCDS? If so what are your thoughts?

I have found when in dynamic mode, 2/3/4 gearsound drops off until around 4,000rpm and then loud again. But first gear is quiet loud through whole rpm range.

I have the performance exhaust also.

Hi,

Hm, as far as I were aware dynamic opens them fully.. It isn't an automatic system by Rev range like an Armytrix system for example.

It's probably quieter in those gears because the engine is under more load than in first, I'm no professional but that's my thinking... The turbo kicks in around 4000rpm I believe.

I hope someone can give feedback on this??

Hi,

On my previous S3 8V the flaps would open at around 2500RPM even in Dynamic mode. It could be due to emmision testing closing one valve off or for decibel rating? I'm not sure.

Has anyone else noticed it quietens up in every other gear other than first until around 4K RPM on the RS3?

Or has anyone disabled the flaps to fully open position via VCDS
