    Just took the A4 into Evans halshaw after an absolute nightmare of arguing with two dealerships regarding work that should of been carried out before I originally picked the car up. Anyway, I won’t go into all the issues because you will get sick of reading. But take a look at the courtesy car I’ve just received from them.

    Disgusting.

    Annoying on my part, I wanted to get away after really starting to lose my patience with them so I jumped in the car & drove away. Only seen the state of the rear when I got home.

    Please don’t anyone else buy from Evans Halshaw

    When I took my RS3 in for some warranty work (not to EV) I was handed a bum basic A3 diesel ffs and it looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Needless to say I didn't go back to them and instead use Camberley who are 10x better.

    I once had a Ford salesperson's own vehicle as a loaner, that was equally filthy on the outside. So bad I gave it a good clean myself, he was quite amused by this....

    Unfortunately never checked the car till I got home, what’s bothering me the most is they expect me to pay £10 for the courtesy car when I go to pick my car up. Already argued with them this morning that I shouldn’t have to pay because it’s the second time I’ve taken the car to them with the same problem.

    You should tell them you're willing to pay it on the understanding that they'll pay for your clothes to be dry cleaned after sitting in the back seat! Haha.

    Having had a bad experience with EH on a previous car I will never ever use them again.

    I’m sure there are some really good EH dealerships out there but I’m yet to hear of one.

    They are actually terrible, easily the worst dealer I’ve dealt with. For such a big company it’s ran like they are complete amateurs. Wasn’t going to bother going into details but I’ll run you through what I’ve gone through with them in 4 weeks.

    4 weeks ago I reserved the Audi A4 from the Harrogate branch which is 65 mile away from me, I placed a £200 reserve on the car so no one could purchase it while I was travelling down. Travelled down to the garage on a Saturday, compared to most dealers I wouldn’t say they where busy at all but it took 2 hours of sitting in the waiting room to get the keys for the car. When I got the keys I went for a look round the car & sat inside. The car was really dirty inside & out, 2 alloys where curbed & the front splitter needed a little paint job. I was ****** off to say the least after travelling down that the car hadn’t even been through prep when they knew I was coming.

    Anyway, I was happy with the car & agreed to buy it if they agreed to carry out the work so I told them to put some HP figures together. It took them another 2 hours to put the numbers together, reason being I put the reserve on the car in my name but the finance was going in my partners. At one point they actually told me the car was sold, they where correct. It was sold to me!!

    So later the next week, me and the wife drive down to pick the car up. Exterior wise they’ve done a good job, interior it was terrible. Bad enough for me to pay £75 for a valeter to come out and clean it. I never had the log book with me for the old car because we had a private plate on it so I had to pay a £250 refundable deposit to make sure I sent them the log book. Supposedly I would get the money refunded 3 days after they received it. It’s now 4 weeks on Thursday since getting the car & I’ve only just received the money back today.

    On driving home I noticed the aircon had a loud noise & the brakes where squaky. So I rang Harrogate and they arranged for the car to be taken to my local branch (Durham) to get it checked out. On the morning the car was suppose to go in I rang Durham, but to my surprise they had never received a call from Harrogate so I wasn’t booked in. Finally re arranged & took the car through. Couple hours later went back to collect the car to be told there was nothing wrong with it. They couldn’t hear a aircon noise and the brake pads where new so could I please bed them in. I kindly then asked a technician to accompany me to the car to listen to the aircon who surprise surprise heard the noice instantly & said heater element. He said no worries I’ll speak to service for you know and re book you.

    Someone down the line obviously forgot as it never happened, it actually took me a further 2 weeks to manage to get back in contact with the right people and get it booked back in. So today I take the car back through & the service manager asks for £10 for the courtesy car. So I politely ask, should I really have to pay £10? If the car had been fixed the first time it was here I wouldn’t have to come back. Her words where, £10 is compulsory & you also owe £75 because the Harrogate branch have refused to let you have the car looked at under warranty. At this point I lost my temper & began to raise my voice.

    She then went on to ring Harrogate & managed to get clearance for the car to be looked at. Got a further call tonight saying the heater element is broke & also the front disks have a lip on them causing the squeak but I would have to come back through another day to have the work done as again they would need Harrogate to now allow the Durham branch to take on the work.

    Please, stay away from EH. They are cheaper than main dealer for a reason.

    Just to balance the argument. Audi Camberley have loaned me an A7 55 TFSI. Not bad :)

    I think a few have misread the OP, I’ve never had an issue with Audi nor would I expect to have one.

    I am interested to see what loaner Eastbourne Audi give me the week after next whilst mine in in for it's second service..

    What a disgusting state to keep a car in, far less to loan it out to a customer. Personally, I would have asked to speak to the General Manager and vented my feelings to him. I just showed the pictures to my wife who, like me, could not believe what she was looking at.
