Well after a good few years and getting involved with the vw show scene i have now completed the look i have been after since i was at school reading old copies of max power and fast car, although the car doesnt look as dated as the mags would now hahaha.
it has been a life long ambition of mine to build a show winning magazine feature car and along with those ambitions were to have a full body colour change respray and a carisma automotive retrim, well i have officially surpassed my own expectations with this build.
Some things bother me about it such as i never knew there was already a liquid yellow s3 in existance and though id be the 1st and be unique with it esspecilay with the cost of the paint :sadlike:. And again going to ultimate dubs this year and rolling into the show arena and seeing a imola s3 with bbs lm's with yellow centred wheels after having spent over a month rubbing my speedlines down to loose the black crackle effect so i could colour code my centres liquid yellow :keule: these last few months to finnish my build have been full of jinx's first off my mate spent months telling me my interior would'nt be done in time for ultimate dubs, it was'nt. Then on the way to ultimate dubs with another freind saying there deffinantly wont be another yellow car with yellow wheels, there was and it was an s3, what are the chances!!!!

Now though hopefully thats all behind this one and i can sit back and enjoy the dream i have created, there's still a few little jobs that need to be done to it but its all in hand and come spring fest it shall all be done as it was this time last year i really got into the vw show scene.

I shall at some point update this thread with some quality pics of the car (hopefully for my 2nd feature :yum:)

Amazing kev, one of the best s3;s ive seen to date.

You've spent sooo much time an money on this. I hope i can start to get mine on the right track the same way as you have done with yours.

Car looks a gem kev. Do like the seats. Think they have stitching like that in the new rs3's.

kev saw your car at ultiamte dubs and mate wot a fu@kin stunner was the best s3 there i think? yellow is not my color but wot u have done to that car is something else it really works mate, Hats off to you dude
where can i get that strut brace from mate

its a forge strut brace but its for a tt, doesnt bolt straight in like you'd expect, i had to file bits down cut bits out etc also it doesnt use the s3 mounting studs these have to be puched out and redrilled out all depends how good you are at fabrication but it does physicly fit

WOW!!!! thats all i can say looks fantastic

I've only just seen this thread.

Great work Kev, car is a beauty.

Where did you get the engine cover(s) from?
yep as said made it myself just used a sheet of metal then cut it with tin snips and a grinding wheel then bent it in a vice the finish under the crackle black paint is'nt great but the paint finish hides all imperfections.

Well Kev...

I've got the basis of a good car as you probably remember, Remap, H&Rs, B8's, Neuspeed ARBs, polly bushes, Miltek cat back...the usual things people do.

I really do want to get it painted, not that the paint is in bad nick but I really would like it in a nice grey, perhaps daytona grey from the B7 RS4, nimbus grey, lava grey, or dolphin grey although there are many OEM dolphins about and I would like something which is a little bit more special.

Problem is we are saving for our Garden to be done, usual story, decking, cotswold stone etc, we've bought a new build house you see and they don't do the gardens on new houses anymore, well the rear ones anyway.

I'd like some new wheels and a re-trim, i guess you could say more or less the same as what you've done to yours but with the exception of a Hybrid turbo setup. I'd like a FMIC too but a hidden one.

It's just money, same old story really. I need more!! lol.

But well done Kev your car is for me a benchmark for all other "fettled" with 8L S3's, especially aesthetically as it's right in tune with what I would do and suits my taste 100%.

Looking good, only thing that lets it down is the LCR splitter

Another question for you Kev.

Where did you get the black washer bottle cap? I can find the header tank caps in black but not the washer bottle ones.
its not a straight forward replacement was a bmw cap modified to fit :)

lcr splitter is there as the front looks to high front on with out it as the bumper curves back on itself to much for my likeing, didnt like it with out it
