I've read 45 is the lowest offset which should be used But I know of some lovely wheels which are 43. Would I get away with them? The problem is my car is quite low but I could put 225 35's on them.

If they are 8" wide.. Et43 you shouldn't get any rubbing..

I'm running 8J et42 S3 lowered a further 25mm and get no rubbing... Thats with 225/40's

I ran 8.5J et 35 19" all the time on air ride no rubbing even when crazy low

As above, I am on 18x9.5 and 18x8.5 et42 on 225/40r18, also on the deck, doesn't even rub with two people in the back.

I'm on 18x8 ET42 with the arch screw removed but my car does rub with 2 people in the back.

Are the S3 arches more flared than the A3 or something?

Just waiting on the seller to come back to me. This is how my car sits on 19's. Sounds like I wont have issues this low? Its not "slammed".

Its one of those, it may catch it may not but if it does, it'll be the rear arch screw that it catches on.
I have 8x19 et44's with 225/35/19's on. It didn't catch at all until I had a 4 wheel alignment done, removed the arch screw and it never catches

Can always put 215's on to introduce a slight bit of stretch, will have no issues then

The whole point is to get away from my slight stretched 225 / 35's on 8.5J 19's.

Well, I've committed. Not sure how well they'll work on a dark car but I have.. :D

I'm on 225/45 R17 7.5J ET43, on coilovers almost fully down, and on hard turns front "polishes" fenders :) rear sometimes catches nut with passangers on the back. S3 have different rear arch/bumper fitting, on A3 we can give more negative camber or cut holders that prevent from going wide and low :)
