esp/traction control problem

Hi people I am in need of some help please.
I have just started to notice that my esp/traction control light keeps coming on, on the dash board and i was wondering what this could mean? is it just a loose connection on a wire or is it a faulty sensor or could it be more serious?
Any help or advice is most appriciated, thanks in advance

I had this on my 3.2 A3 and think i have traced it to a dodgy ESP button....


Worth ago chaging it as there only cheap
