Hi all,
I've been getting the esp light coming on intermittently.
I've scanned the codes with a cheap scanner and got
01826
00778

Which both indicate G85 steering angle sensor.

Clutching at straws, but since having the tracking done last year the steering wheel is very slightly off centre.
Would this affect it?

I'm guessing not... Just hoping and praying lol

Failing that any advice on how to sort it, would you chance an ebay replacement? guessing it'll fail an MOT if the light happens to be on during mot test?

That's your problem. Steering has an optical sensor that throws an error if it's off centre. Get it tracked again and it will be solved.

You need to stick it on vcds and have a look on steering module it will tell the angle what it thinks the steering wheel is, make sure its straight. Depending on what it thinks the angle is a slight turn of the wheel will make it think you are throwing it around corners and activate ESP.

Instead of throwing money away replacing parts invest in vcds your steering angle sensor might just need recalibrating
