Hi everyone
My 1st post but I’ve been using lots of advice from here

So I’ve been having intermittent problems with my A3 8p 2010 1.6 petrol mpi 48 000 miles.

So I’ve had the car 5 months now, first 3 were
fine no worries, it then started developing misfiring problems when accelerating hard and cutting out on me when at low speeds (30 mph ish) and once up to temperature If I switch off and try to start the engine again it won’t turn over half the time.

I’ve been reading though the forums lots and changed what I’ve read that sounds similar, (battery, HT leads, spark plugs, coolant temp sensor, cam shaft position sensor, fuel relay) I’ve also tried resetting the ECU (disconnect battery leave it 30 mins) nothing has any lasting result!!

Ive taken it to an Audi specialist and had diagnostics done, no fault codes have come up.

However today the EPC and emission light has stayed on when I turn my ignition to the 1st stage, the other lights go out (see attached picture) when i start the engine (if it does start) then go away.

I’m at a bit of a lose end, I’m going to take it to a Audi specialist now the light has come on and hope something comes up, but if anybody has experienced anything similar or has any advice please let me know.

Normal light behaviour.

The manual says the lights should go on briefly then turn off, after a few seconds...

Any thought on what it could be I’m thinking ECU issues

Maybe it's coil packs?

Loose ground?

Any pose ground wires can cause issues ....

Also check all the fuses ....

Coil packs/ HT Leads same thing? Checked all fuses under bonnet and side of the dash

To find lose grounding wires would I need a wiring diagram?

Ya I guess they are .... You've replaced them?

No you can tell what ground is .... There's one behind the battery attached to the body of the car in the engine bay .... And also others including one attached to the transmission that should be visible from around the same area .... Or under the airbox ....

If you have a ground issue it can be missed sometimes .... Not necessarily the issue just a suggestion

Just a follow up,
In the garage today found out the catalytic converter has melted so the exhaust gases have been building up and back pressure has been causing the engine to cut out. Has taken a while to get there ! No more garage bills for a while hopefully.
