Entering a post code

Ive got a mk1 rnse with a 2005 sat nav disc, when trying to put in a post code it will only accept four characters and then need a street name or special location, ive checked the manual and it seems this is normal... What a pain in the ***!!

Is there not a way of just entering a whole postcode and it going off that, or is it because i have out dated software?

Never ever ever has there been or will be 7 digit post code searching on the RNS-E mk1 or mk2.

That's the reason I'm sticking to my TomTom and not "upgrading" to RNSE. Not having a full postcode search on them is shocking for the cost.

There is a 2015 disk available with full post code searches, I have one in my RNS-E. Some clever person hacked this and it was available on the web for a while. But the 2016/17 disks were never made available with the same hack. So I'm sticking with my 2015 disk.
