Engine Warning Light

Hi all Im new in here and I dont really know where to post the all things I just bouth the audi a3 year 2000 and I found out that if I turn the car on injaction the Engine warning Light is not coming on wich it should. Please help me to clear my mind. Thanks lol

That is from quite a few years ago.

There are some a3 engine codes which simply don't have an EML someone's car failed it's MOT as no EML on engine ignition. But @Prawn said they don't even have one.

I think I remember mine having a MIL light, but now you say that I'll check the manual.
