Engine Shake on Idle

    Hi All

    I have a Audi 2.0TDi B7 Cabrio with the BPW engine

    On idle it shakes for about 10-15 seconds after which it smooths out, it also shakes when quickly going from cruising speed to idle (Roadworks etc.), again after about 15 seconds it smooths out

    I have replaced injector one because it had a high injection value (Over -2.8), this did not solve the issue, injectors have been adjusted and shaking is better when hot but it still shakes

    Engine mounts are fine, mine have sensor but no faults and no liquid leakage
    Dual Mass has been changed, when in or out of gear it makes no difference

    Does anybody have any ideas what to check now?

    Have you checked the snub mount? (Mount on front of engine)

    It is a foam/rubber mount that easily perishes.

    I have and it's slightly perished, the only thing is that the engine rocks side to side but this mount is forward facing isn't it?

    It is, but when you accelerate it’s what stops the Powertrain lurching backwards and forwards.

    Ok, when driving it's not noticeable, only when idle, it's strange

    Is it on the first cold start of the day or on every fresh day during the day? Is it slightly worse in colder weather?

    It's everytime it's started, hot or cold, for about 15 seconds then it smooths out and stops, but comes back if sitting at traffic lights etc

    I have noticed at 1500RPM it rocks/shakes constantly, but at 2000rpm it's smooth

    I would also check compression on all cylinders. It sounds like typical misfire symptoms. Should flag a DTC, but if it’s minor it may not.

    Check compression and also injectors.
