Right, drastic action is required as this dodgy vibration has got the better of me and today I've ordered a complete new clutch kit and dual mass flywheel (ouch!)

The car's a BUL engined Avant SE Quattro.

Me being me and not doing things by halves, I've decided to just take the engine out starting next weekend. What I'd like to know is, firstly are there any specialist, Audi specific tools that I need to remove the engine? And secondly what's a good idea to replace on the engine while it's out and easy to work on?

Any suggestions would be kindly received!

    Thanks,

    Rich.

Got to be worth doing the cambelt/water pump unless it's been done recently.

Haha! Not really Rob, but hell will freeze over before I pay a garage to do anything to one of my car's. It doesn't look too bad to be honest, plus I can use it as an excuse to fit some nice bits while it's out and give everything a good clean. Just spent an hour reading you pcv delete/catch tank install thread so will probably do that while I'm at it.

How much did the DMF set you back Rich? In need of one myself... cheapest I’ve seen is around £500!

Well.... To be fair I got a right steal from Amazon of all places, a genuine LUK dmf was reduced to £256 as they only had one left, and the LUK clutch kit was £178. I was very sceptical to be honest, but I took a punt, ordered it sun afternoon and it all arrived pre 11am today, all looks good.
