Hi guys, not sure where to look but does anyone know any decent garages around the south east area that offer engine rebuilds or swap my current engine for a reconditioned engine? Bottom end has gone on my 2009 s3 8p

Thanks in advance!

AMD Essex are good, they've done plenty to my car and never had any issues

AKS are one of the best places to either replace or forge. Based in Bedford

I would second the AKS suggestion.

Both get good reputations here, and I can personally recommend AMDEssex and Storm Developments,as I've had the engine on my car worked on by both at different times.

Bottom end failures on these engines are uncommon...what happened to yours, and what caused it.....the extent and cause of the damage are going to determine whether or not it's repairable,or a used replacement is best.

The bottom end on my s3 engine went at 77,000 miles and was not repairable. I wasted a lot of time at another so called Audi specialist, but it was Alex at AKS Tuning in Oakley who came to my rescue and provided me with a replacement. AKS are fantastic you won’t be disappointed if you go there.

Thank you for the replies people!

@S3Alex - It was self inflicted, I was an idiot and left the car with a faulty injector as the engine management light was on and off every now and again.. think it over fuelled and mixed with the oil causing low oil pressure

Got it....that's a shame.

Low oil pressure for sure would kill the bearings, but hopefully you may be able to salvage it.

Im in a similar position atm s3 8p 2010 piston ring failure.

aks are the best to be doing this but your looking at a long wait as they have 4 car waiting to be built.

He gave me a date for around July to start the work

Amd r taking my car in to diagnose the problem and do the work as I wont be able to wait that long.

Old thread but what were your symptoms for piston ring failure?
