Engine rattle on startup

anyone else with a 2.0 tdi and/or ultra have this? Settles down after 5-10 seconds, but doesn't sound right

All diesels are noisy. Check engine oil level

Is this all the time or just from cold?

Will check my car this morning, not been started in a couple of days, but most likely normal noise just the engine waiting for the oil to get around the engine.

The V6 does make a lot less rattle than the 4 pots.

Well started mine up and like you say there is a rattle there and which starts to go away after around 10-15 seconds, it will just be the oil getting to the top end of the engine.
