Engine noise help

wondering if anybody can help me. My car suddenly developed a ticking noise last week. The ticking noise increases when revving and also when idle. It seems to come from left hand side of the engine bay.

Also when I turn off the ignition when engine is running I can hear what I can only describe as a escape of air or compression noise form right side around the battery area

Can you help the car is with Audi at the moment and I have recorded the noise but they can't find a fault.

Can you upload/share the recording of the noise?

Ticking noise from left side of the engine sounds like timing chain/tensioner, but that wouldn't explain the other noise you hear near the battery area. Is it possible you only just noticed the ticking noise? The engines are quite noisy anyway due to direct injection etc.

I've got the same thing happening to mine, ive asked them to have a look at it next week, shall I update you on what they say?

It's normal. It's just the thing inside closing
