Hi guys, apologies if this has been asked many time before. Not sure the best route of what to do next.

The Engine management light has come on and isn't going off, it was a little jerky the other morning but just put it down to the cold. It's due a service at the stealers soon but wondered if there is a better more cost effective route than asking them to look into it.

I don't know of any specialist in Beds area or anyone with a vag computer-me-bobby thing as never had any problems up until now.

2006 A3 2.0 TFSI, mrc map (so has a decent DV). My wife uses it daily to visit her mum in hospital which is a longish drive so don't want to ignore it. Just not sure where to start.

Any recommendations/advice is most welcome.

needs pluging in to get the fault code
no way of knowing whats up with it

First place to start is with a full scan with VCDS. If the light is on, a fault code will be stored.

Please refer to the following link to find the nearest person(s) to you with VCDS
