Engine cutting out.

Hi, my stepdads father has a 1.8 A4 on an 's' plate,

Problem hes having is it cuts out when he stops, As the revs drop they dont stop and kills the engine, Only does this when its hot though.

Starts and drives fine. No lights on dash.


Any Ideas from anyone who's suffered from this? I haven't looked at it yet, just wanted to see if anyone has an easy fix before i pull it apart?

Probably the ICV needs cleaning, sounds like its sticking when warm.

yea was thinking maybe that area. thanks will try that first and give it a good clean! Think I'll give all asociated parts a good clean to

check for vacuum leaks, these cars dont really have ICV's, theres just a stepper motor that opens the main throttle flap.

Well its an odd thing as it seems to have fixed it self now. Just have to wait to see if it comes back or not.
