Hi guys

Just wondered what this does on vcds. At the moment the value is set at “0”.
Having a few problems with engine reaching operating temperature.
Can I use this to adjust the temp ?. Or trick the ECU thinking it’s up to temp?.

Cheers

If the engine is not getting up to temp I would find out why instead of tricking the ECU in thinking it is.

Maybe your thermostat is stuck open?

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah I do suspect the thermostat, only problem is in the cduc 3.0tdi you have to buy the whole unit £250 and not just the thermostat.

I’ve done some logging and the radiator outlet actual never goes above 40 Degrees when the specified is 90.

All sensors changed but not the thermostat

Before replacing can you take it out and test in a saucepan with a cooking thermostat to check the temperature it opens?

Thanks Tim

Yes I think I’ll try that first. The engine has two thermostats with the other one directly in the engine block and is only cheap so I’ll change that too.

Also noticed engine temp fluctuating. It never says constant and have noticed more fuel consumption and injector pinging. Doesn’t do it if the engine gets hot.

Hi,

Did you sort this?

I have similar issues with my SQ5 and suspect the shut off valve for the coolant in the ‘V’ of the engine.

Thanks,

Matt.
