So, I’ve now had 7 bent wheels from not overly deep pot holes in my S3, since I bought it brand new in November 2017.....

2 sets of original wheels, one on Pirelli’s and one on conti’s. 235,35,19

Has anyone else been suffering this plight? It was the same in my GTE. I’m almost certain VAG wheels are now made of butter

In all the cars I’ve owned of other makes this has never happened to them. Funnily enough our other car an A3 8P had a buckled alloy likely to of been caused by a pot hole that needed replacing

I don’t think it’s the rim i think it’s the stock Pirelli tires that have that rim guard + 235-35-19 doesn’t help.
I’ve bent one wheel 2 weeks ago got it fixed but bought a new set of wheels 19x8.5 so I can run a 255-35-19.

They just come up with an attractive big wheel with good handling = elastic band profiles that don't reflect the condition of UK roads .

Anything less than 89mm is asking for trouble .
