EL lights from EBay for interior mood lighting

HeY guys new here and couldn't find anything related in the search

I am looking to create a better environment in my 2015 A3 saloon by adding some interior mood lighting

I have come across "EL wires" from EBay selling cheap and seem to be easy to install requires just shoving it into the small gaps in the dashboard

Wanted to ask if anyone has had experience doing this and whether it's worth it or of there's any other cheap alternatives

The aim here is to create a luxury esque cabin so I won't want those strip LEDs that change colour on music beats for the footwell as I feel they look a bit childish

Any ideas let me know

I did this by using LED lights mounting on the lip of the door pocket. You could do the same with el lights too and maybe put on the underside of the door handle.

Brightness is controlled by dimmer switch. Couldn't figure out how to get it to be controlled by the mmi.

LEDs are similar to this type. Power is directly from the door module. You'll have to do some vcd or obd11 coding to power it all up tho. I forget the pins, but search for those that have put ambient lights in the car.
