Hi,

i have a rough idle on my 2.0tdi 8P. i want to remove the throttle body and give it a clean to see if this cures it, but while im there i want to clean the EGR also, just want a quick guide if anyones has done this before on what ill need, the EGR and Throttle Body are inline together if im looking at the correct thing? - also on my old Astra when removing the EGR, coolant would come out and empty the car of it, is the A3 the same? will i need to replace the coolant or does none come out?

Any help would be appreciated,

Cheers guys

Just unbolt it and clean with engine degreaser and a small wire brush. They can take awhile to clean. No Coolant loss :)

They kind of come off together. One long bolt goes through both then the others join them. No Coolant anywhere near it. Only the EGR cooler near turbo has Coolant in it not the EGR itself. And no just stick it back on no messing :)

O before I'am shot down for wrong info... Is your EGR vacuum or electronic? Mine is 06/07 and vacuum. I know later swapped to electronic but not sure when. Either way I'am. Sure all is same
