Just had my DPF gutted and EGR removed from my 1.9 TDI BLS engine today due to the DPF reaching the end of its usable life.

I noticed more and more regens happening which I allowed them to finish and at the end of last week I got the dreaded flashing glow plug light, engine light and DPF warning light on the DIS.

Bought the EGR delete kit from Darkside Developments and had the DPF gutted and re-welded by a local VAG specialist, software was modified by Autotune in Ballymena.

Over the moon, car runs so much better, pulls better and initial MPG has risen.

Great stuff! Any difference in exhaust note on the motorway mate? (I hope it doesn't drone or sound intrusive?)

Any ideas on what power you're running now?

There's no noticeable noise difference, just a very light whistle from the turbo on idle due to the now de-restriction.

My Revo file was modified by Autotune and never had it measured before or after removal but going by the figures given by Revo, I should be on 145-150bhp with the DPF & EGR in place.

No worries, that's put my mind at rest :)

Wow, that's a nice bump in power!

It's only a 1.9 so not expecting massive gains, on the standard map it put out 121bhp in totally standard form which is 16bhp over the standard quoted 105bhp, so the car might actually be putting out more than Revo's figures at the min.
