My egr valve is playing up. Is it possible to delete the software using vcds? I understand it can be done through remapping but I don't want to go that route if possible. Thanks.

No VCDS cannot be used to delete the EGR

The interface cable may be able to connect with the car with other remapping software but VCDS as a program will not be able to map it out

Turning down the duty cycle via VCDS was popular for awhile, but it messes with and ******* the injection timing which can affect power output and fuel economy.

Ive seen posts about "Narf Mod" or "MAF twist", but Im still learning about it.

I'm in the same boat , I've got EGR fault but no power loss or anything like that , just seems a bit slow , il be cleaning it out tomorrow if it does re-appear I will delete and remap,

As my mileage is at 112k ,having a EGR delete and remap, will this affect my car in anyway ?

can anyone recommend a specialist in the West Midlands

Give one of these egr reducers a go mate, worth a punt at around a fiver!

I think il do that As above , do I just need the 1 plate anything else I.e seal ?

No just that mate, just remove 2 bolts slide the original gasket out and replace with that... Job done! Literally takes a minute or 2!

I was using a sophisticated code reader/computer and it was saying my egr gases are double what the car wanted. Would that reduced help do you think?

If your EGR flow is being reported as high you may actually want to check your MAF as this is what the ECU uses to calculate the EGR flow.

Will take all comments on board , il get the reducer plate , clean the EGR and hopefully it's cured TOUCH WOOD
