Hi Guys,

I need some advice i got my car booked in for a test as I kept loosing power and the cog lights come on after driving for a while. I paid audi £60 to run some diagnostics and they said seems like this issue is related to the EGR valve but becuase its made differently now they need to change the whole EGR cooler and quoted me £800 :sob:.

Is there anything else that can be done like maybe cleaning the valve? Anyone know any audi specialist in the west midlands that might be able to help.

I have an A3 1.6 TDI Diesel never had any problems before this with the car and is being serviced regularly.

not sure on the 1.6 tdi but you may be able to just remove the whole egr system. I have done this on my 2.0 tdi removed the egr cooler egr valve pipes etc.
