Egr blanking plate a4 tdi b7 170

Hi guys.
Do egr blanking plate's work on these engines with no fault codes etc. Just slip a new gasket and plate between egr and feed from exhaust job done? How does does the engine then account for the loss of exhaust gas into the inlet?

Ecu will throw an eml , no engine performance loss . Requires remapping out .

Engine accounts for loss of breathing crap inert incombustible gasses by having good oxygenated full combustion producing less soot and more power .
