ecu software update..any ideals what for??

Just had my 56(8P) A3 2.0 TFSI Sline S.E service for the first time after 10mounth and 17k miles in the clock and was told that they did a ecu software update,though they did say i wouldnt be able to tell.

Is this standard and does anyone know what was changed/improved/fixed,just currious realy

Most software updates are done as part of what are called "campaigns", and are merely installed when the car comes in for other work. Often they don't even tell you they've done it and they won't divulge exactly what they're for.

Generally it's just minor tweaks to improve driveability, economy, performance, that sort of thing.

do you only get this if you go to audi dealers?

my A3 is an 04 model, will i benefit taking it to audi??

Yours is a diesel I believe. The ECU flash is for the 2.0TFSI
