Hi

If ASN 8L or others are up for it, Badger 5 is running a Dyno Day on Sunday 30th October 2011, from 10.30am

Price is £39/car.

You get 3 runs, with data logging from dyno + VAGCOM, prints outs of power, torque, afr, boost, and emailed the xls logs from the runs. You dont get this level of logging and data aquisition on any other Dyno day.

Low cars should be prepared to wind up their coilies, if on smaller diameter wheels to avoid dissapointment.

If you are interested, and we get sufficient interest, we will try and get the Burger van man here too. (always goes down well)

So.. Post your interest below.

thanks
Bill & Badger5 team

I'd absolutely love to pop up to this Bill, but I already know that the track car is dying fast, and the daily hasn't changed since last years day, aside from feeling pretty dull!

Might pop along just to say hello though :)

Did he? wasn't that clear. soz i struggle to understand you peeps up there in the north :p :p. i thought it was v difficult to Dyno a AWD car even on a 4wd dyno, mine was on a 4wd dyno and it really didn't like it, it was braking wheels independently and sending power to individual wheels giving a fkd graph.

Yeah, we pull fuses on 8L haldex cars or on 8P's etc we unplug the haldex altogether... found out the other week that really early S3's (yes JoJo, yours!!) don't have fuses so unplug ftw..

If my s3 is on the road by then, I'll be there! Otherwise I'll have to drive my fiesta.. It'll be good to see what that runs for a laugh!... On a second thought.. Maybe not.

Sorry for the stupid question but i've not done a RR day before, What actually happens? lol
Is it just car on rollers rev to redline get graph and done or is there some tuning/diagnostics etc aswell?
Reason i ask is i have revo st1 with SPS and a few other mods but never actually tweaked my map.
Cheers.

It's a power run on the rollers, but Bill(Badger5) will be looking at logs with VagCom during the run to spot anything weird going on and possibly give you some tips.

If you are interested in coming, please stick your names down in my section please, or here, or somewhere at least in a single place so we can keep track on who's coming and numbers etc

The Haldex 4wd cars can run in 2wd for power runs, by disconnecting the haldex by fuse or plug

I do very comprehensive dyno runs, like no other dyno day...
Logging on minimum 3 runs, with vagcom and dyno, so full picture of whats occuring is captured..

Typical logging includes airflow, timing pull, boost request vs actual, boost actual and air temps, ign timing, air fuel ratio, and physical boost

regards
bill

Put me down as a spectator Bill, if you need an extra person to fill up the runs, then add me on, I'm easy.

I reckon I'd be up for popping along. I'll have to make an early start to get over there, but might be interesting to see how an MTM fares up against the usual revo, CC and R-Tech maps.

I don't suppose there's any chance of being able to get by downpipe fitted whilst I'm there, is there?

I would imagine that the answer to that will be no sadly, time is limited on the dyno days and it's a mad rush as it is.

S3 downpipe fitting isn't exactly a quick and easy task anyway...

So...

****** hell, just made a trip down that way for ADI and then 3 weeks later this comes up. I've been meaning to get the car on a dyno since I bought it, just to see what it's producing, so I'll check the calendar & have a chat to the Mrs. Wish me luck.... Otherwise I might just have to "pop out" for a while... Is it too early to pretend I'm Christmas shopping?

Thought that might be the case Welly. I spoke to Bill a couple of days ago and he said with that and my potential turbo stall, that it's probably a full days work so will have to give it a miss. No point doing a dyno run when I know she's not running properly. Pretty annoying! Need to sort my sh*t out so I stop missing everything!
