hi guys and girls.im new 2 this forum and have a question im looking for the answers to.hope someone can help!im looking to get a new bov to replace the standard bosch valve.i have been told about forge motorsports splitter r valve??:uhm:does anyone have one or know about them?i would like an atmospheric valve but dont want the problems that they can cause to the engine.if anyone can tell me a suitable valve it would really help.cheers folks

Welcome! Don't know about BOV's tho. Loadsa folk on here should be able to help you out!

I just fitted a forge motorsports splitter r valve on my S4 and I very happy with :)

The Splitter is a truly remarkable valve that gives a combination of blow off and recirculation all at the same time and has been specifically designed for the many turbo engined applications that operate metered airflow management systems :)

I would just stick a 710N on there and be done with it. I see no point in wasting £100+ on a valve when you can buy one that does the job perfectly fine for £20.

The valve only serves one purpose, to stop compressor stall. If you want to barry it up and fit an atmospheric thing then thats upto you. But i'd be sticking with the cheap uprated factory option.

I have the 710N very good valve and very cheap :)

i stuck an uprated forge dv on mine(007 i think) as my standard dv started making mooing noises after i had the car chipped

I run the Forge 007 on mine. So far I'm very pleased with it. Can here it making noises as I have a cone filter on the car (which is often frowned upon)

JBS fit a forge 007 with their remap (along with a green cotton filter) .

Are they loud as i don't want that chav whoosing sound i used to have on my Fiesta Turbo years ago!!!! But i welcome a more quiet chatter.

i had a big induction filter and a forge replica divert valve (with a slightly stiffer spring) on my Audi and it used to scare the shat out of people.
Like this...

i then put a Audi TT DV on it (n710) as people on here said it was bad and it was turbo stalling. It still done it was a little quieter.

:)

Be intersted to hear how well they work on the S4. i take it you fitted 2? Also any video of what they sound like?

It's not really loud, audible but not loud. What did you put a DV on a Fiesta Turbo for? They are all about chatter. Still miss my Fiesta Turbo I sold last year

Still have my Escort though :arco:

Forge 007. only because i got it free when forge did my FMIC. old OEM thing was leaking at the time.
don't like Atmos dump, 1) because the MAF recirc is how the engine works normally and 2)don't want to sound like rally car at full chat....otherwise I would have bought an impreza

We also recommend the Forge 007P diverter valves:

As mentioned above:

Here at JBS we are actually offering Custom-Code Phase 1 tuning with Forge 007P DV AND a Green Cotton air filter for only £350.00 on the 1.8T DBW models! Not to be missed!

wow. No offence guys.... that sound would really **** me off after a while... Does that sound happen all the time?

Yup every time you close the throttle.

Hence me saying to use a nice normal recirc valve, albeit an uprated one...

Theres no reason to use an Atmospheric valve, or any sort of half-atmo-half-recirc "splitter" thing, bar making that noise.

Very true. I'm gutted I sold mine now. Especially as I was talked into it. We don't need three cars I was told. No sooner was the car gone we apparently did need the car after all. Hence the Golf GTi we now have.

This is my brothers example that we've just finished building the engine for. The new ECU is ready to go so as soon as the new turbo has been specced adn teh injectors sorted we should be good for a smidge over 300bhp, not bad for a 1600cc 18 year old Ford Fiesta. lol

No way. Got to be a CVH, putting anything else in would make the car worthless to us. Zetec turbo's are awesome (friend of mine has a Mercury Grey example knocking on 400bhp, on low boost!!!!) and ZVH's are, well, not a choice we would make in all honesty. The 1.9's don't generally perform as well as the 1600 cars.

I presume the point of the ZVH is you get the stronger 2.0 block and extra capacity, without the problems of boring the 1600 out to 1.9?

If so, whys it a bad choice?
