Hi all I’m after some advice. I have an Audi A3 Sline with DSG on a 2006 plate with 76k Miles. Regularly serviced.

I had the tracking done last week and while it was up on the ramp the mechanic heard a “knocking” noise coming from the near side lower part of engine bay.
When I have the car idling in N or P it comes and goes for around 5-6 seconds, it sounds a bit like a lid on a saucepan rattling..? I have no warning lights on the dash, no power loss. New turbo fitted at Easter.
I’ve also noticed my coolant level has dropped to min level (filled up last week)..a friend said it could be water pump? But I’m not totally convinced as the pump and cam belt changed at 55k.
Could it be the DMF?

Any help on this would be appreciated

I would say the 2 symptoms are not related as if the dmf was on the way out it would not cause coolant loss.
First thing I would do would be to get the car up in the air and have a thorough look for any antifreeze staining indicating a leak.
