Hi all,
Is it possible to reset the dsg using Obdeleven by any chance?

My transmission has been a little rough lately. I scanned for codes but it came up with none. But I wasn't sure if Obdeleven could read codes from the TCU.

Appreciate any input of you have gone down this path of resetting the dsg.

If vcds or Odis this the only option then I'll take the car to the workshop.

Thank you.

not sure if Obdeleven does support this, but this is from VCDS so see if you can reach the same channels and settings

Gearbox reset procedure:

Prerequisites:
- Transmission fluid temperature greater than 15°C
- Do NOT continue if the temp is out of specs! -
- Advanced Measuring Values = [Control Module temperature]
- Selector lever in [P]
- Engine idle speed, do not press accelerator pedal
- Parking brake and foot brake applied during the entire procedure
- Note: Not all transmission controllers support this function

0BH - Basic Settings Procedure - Be sure all the Prerequisites are followed, important! - The brake pedal must be depressed during the entire procedure.

[Select] [02 - Transmission]
[Basic Settings - UDS]
- Select [Basic settings of transmission]

Next click [Show Measuring Data] and select:
- [Engine speed]
- [Main status of abort code basic setting]
- [Status of basic setting]
- [Status of basic setting data for clutch]
- [Status of basic setting data; gear selector]
- [Sub-status of abort code basic setting]

Then press [Go!]

- During the basic setting procedure, there may be some loud gear shifting noises from the transmission, this is normal.

Basic settings may not complete successfully if:
- The fluid temperature gets too hot.
- Brake is released

Once complete, there should be an indication of this in the [Status of Basic Settings].

Then click - [Done, Go Back] and Check for fault codes.

When it comes to the MQB 8V platform forget all tools other than the official VW Group service tool as 3rd parties are not up to speed on the procedures needed in order to preform calibrations and resets, let alone the needed adaptation drive needed to complete everything.

If in or around, or can get to North London I can assist.

Thank U DJ, I'm in Australia

I'll get it done through Odis then as it seems to be the only way for the current gen car.

Cheers

I really need to find an upside down rep with the amount of requests I get from Oz :)

As @DJAlix says above only Odis on newer cars.........

There's a set procedure that needs to be strictly followed otherwise it is a waste of time.

Although @Seanix if you speak to @DJAlix he has a remote solution that could be very effective
This might be one situation where my remote solution might not work unfortunately due to the very last procedure. In total there are about 5 or 6 which need to be completed, the last of which really needs personal interaction.

Sorry Alex I completely forgot about the fact the latter stages of Odis procedure need the extra person.

Just to be clear, this procedure can only be completed by someone with the ODIS software? I’m sure I read that for pfl cars there was a way of doing something similar without the use of a tool.

This isn’t the case with the FL cars I assume, needs to be done at dealer of specialist?

Just wondering what the rough cost might be, if anyone has an idea I’d welcome a pm if you don’t mind.

TIA

Have done extensive testing on this with 3rd party tools, investigating possible cost savings etc, and it’s Genuine VW Group service tool only for a proper reset. Other tools can reset but not fully adapt. I ask £65.00 to £85.00 depending on the vehicle.

Whereabouts in North London are you? Wondering what your availability is as I might pay you a visit. Feel free to drop me a dm if it’s easier. Thanks
