DSG Oil Change Service

The question of when the oil and filter should be changed in the DSG gearbox when fitted to an A3 come up in some recent posts.

I emailed Audi customer services to check - was it at 20k or 40k. They have just telephoned to say that they have checked with the technical department and for the A3 it's at 40k miles.

It's only 20k miles when fitted to a TT.

Yeah Dave, and then only the early TT's at that. It was always supposed to be 40k but on the early TT's they messed up with a filter that sets the level of the oil. This was manufactured too short causing problems with the DSG function. Rather than do a recall, they had the smart idea of calling it a oil change at 20k and charging the customer for it.

Smart eh !!
