Hi All,

Literally days before VAG at the manor I think I've got a crappy wheel bearing.
It's like a constant droning noise that appears at about 35-40mph and gets louder the faster I go, there is also no change in sound when I brake, turn, press the clutch and change gear, recently had a top suspension arm fixed for the MOT and I hoped that this would clear the noise but it's still there. (Noise coming from front passenger side)

I'm thinking it's maybe a wheel bearing but I don't think I can get it booked into a garage before VAG, is it risky driving 5 hours down there and back? Also Is there any way I can confirm that it is a bearing.

Thanks.

I had that for 6 months before I got round to replacing it , think as long as it's justba steady droning and not a metal grinding noise you'll be fine.
Or if it gets worse changes noise when cornering .
It was more apparent at 50-60mph , and went quieter at 70.

Exactly that, not a metal noise at all, I'll save my coin and change it after VAG, earlier this month I did a Newcastle round trip and the noise never got any louder, I guess it has some life left in it.

Thanks a lot
