I fitted a res delete around a month or so ago, didn't go with the BCS version as i though £300 was a bit strong for a bit of pipe. I took a chance on one for £100 and fitted it in 20 mins and was very happy with the very, very small amount of drone. Anyway, today i had to carry some large items in the car so needed to put the seats down. I had no idea how much the boot must isolate you from the exhaust note/drone. If i had didn't have a saloon then it would be to much for me to live with. This could explain why some say the drone is to much and some say its fine, differant body types maybe.

Your valves open or stock(closed)? Try with the boot open a bit when carrying really large items ;)

I wouldn't mind going in someones car with a "cheap" pipe to see how it compares to the BCS one, would be interesting.

There really is little drone, I'm not saying the BCS won't be better but in the saloon i think your better off saving your money. As for the valves, i have them in dynamic but i think i may have a problem with them as they seem to do what ever they feel like.

I can't recommend the BCS res delete enough. I'm very glad I went with the BCS drone delete pipe myself as it's more than loud enough in my little S3 Van.

I've now flipped the bottom of the boot up to sit like the back of the rear seats and fitted the parcel shelf as well as putting som insulation in the boot - this makes it a lot more bearable when driving with a passenger (which is the only reason I did this). This is of course a special case but I can imagine how big a difference it makes for you when you flip the seats down.

I recently fitted a res delete kit (£49.99 off eBay and is SPOT ON!), took around 15-20mins to do and has made a great addition to the noise of the car....doesnt drone at all, doesnt impede normal town driving, and even cruising at 70mph officer, there is virtually no increase in exhaust noise...Put it into Dynamic and open the throttle, there is an awesome throaty sound from the exhaust now, and with every upshift is an awesome deep noted bang/pop from the exhaust

I suppose I am used to the days of Escort RS Turbos and Saph Cossies etc with Mongoose exhausts on etc so I think the exhaust note with the centre box delete is still non existant lol

BTW, the car is a Saloon and have driven it with the seats down and still didnt find it too bad to be honest
