Help required....!!

I'm trying to sort out a driving experience day for a few mates (that's all I've got! ) Preferably in the midlands area, and something where you get more than a crappy 5 or 6 laps in a Porche type of thing...... I've looked at Silverstone but don't think much to it!

Thanks.

there all like that. The Formula Ford/Renault/Audi single seater experiences are 60 laps and better. Ok its not a dream car like a ferrari but you'll get a much bigger thrill.

I,m thinking more of a road car type thing, maybe even an EVO or Subaru, but with the 60 Lap thing would be great!

Any link for those single seaters just incase??:salute:

Maybe have a look at this site Ian

www.bookatrack.com

I doubt you'd get to borrow someone elses car for 60 laps in any outing, maybe you could arrange all your mated to take it in turns in your tweaked S4, then tell me the date and location, so I can have a go. :moa:

I'd suggest karting would be a lot more fun if you are going with a few mates! I've done a few ferrari or similar experiences and all but one that cost around £1250 per person from my company were over too short.

I think the caterham experience day / half day at Bedford is good value from memory and that was one of my favorite bits from the motorsport sensation so that might be worth a go.

Cheers JoJo............:)

GTQ, Karting's great, but we're definatly looking for a car based day. I'll check out Bedford, have you got a link? Thanks

what about a rallying experience, the mrs got me one a few years ago at silverstone.

they had peugeot 306 rally cars at the time and it lasted the whole day, obviously you have to share 2 or 3 cars with about ten people but we got quite a bit of time hairing around a purpose built rally circuit ripping up the handbrake and just generally seeing how much you could get the car out of shape while keeping it going in the right direction!!! the instructor would be in the car with you giving advice but basically egging you on to get the right foot down and pull the left hand up on the handbrake.

halfway through the day one of the instructors took us all out individually in an old mkII escort rs around the silverstone world rally special stage, it was amazing! all in all a very good day out

I did one of these half day driving experiences with a small company near Stafford as part of a mates stag day. To be honest I thought it was a complete rip off - cost more than a track day and I got about 20 mins of driving all in. I took my mate out on a track day and let him drive my car - far more fun and a lot more reasonable.

For a decent drive you are talking £000s and really need to have it on company expenses...

Teesside Autodrome offer 40mins in a race preppared mini cooper for £99. I'm going to organise a pro-kart event there about march time if your interested. An hour in the karts would be a nice warm up for a mini race experience.

Thanks Guys,,,,, I've done the Rally thing and Karting. What I would really like, on this occasion, is an all day job where you learn to drive just one car properly, and get a decent amount of laps in. Does such a thing exist??

As mentioned above the ultimate is the Palmer day at Bedford. I think it's about £700 this year. I did it last year (corporate event) and it's the best driving day I've ever done. I've done loads of track days and maybe 25 karting events but this is 100% the best.

They really encourage you to get the best out of you and the car. The only down side is the 'small issue' of the price.
