Drivers side electric window

My drivers side window and wing mirror adjustment thing just stopped working. When I opened the door it works then when I close it nothing happens. Now it doesnt work either way. All the controls work for passanger and back windows. Has anybody had the same problem? I connected it to vcds and said its the motor but then it works again so it clears itself.

Check the wires inside the rubber inbetween the door and the body, they can break.

How do I take that rubber off? Thanks for the reply

Ive taken off one side of the rubber bit and found a broken wire. I cant get the bit off at the drivers door and am scared of breaking anything. How do I take off that one? Do I just use a flat head screw driver?
