drivers door not unlocking with remote fob,

hi guys
today the drivers door decided not to open when i was unlocking the car with the key fob.
all other doors open as does the boot.

strange..

any ideas what it could be?

Possibly canbus wires broken in the door rubber boot or the lock isnt getting the signal to unlock.

Anywhere near Manchester, at all as will be there end of week for few days.

Or the microswitches in the door module are gunged up and not responding to the signal! That happened on my passenger front door and took me 6 hours to dismantle window winder, clean all the spring clips, try and find out how they went back together and then reset with VCDS !!!!!!!

Didn't help when I put it all back and forgot to connect the Bowden cable then shut the door. Not easy getting the door card off with the door still locked shut !

yes it opens from the inside with the handle and also with the key itself in the door. but just not by the remote fob.

Then pull the rubber boot away on hinge & check for broken wires, if so they will need repairing.

My first post I know & this may sound daft, but my S3 was doing the exact same thing last week! Changed the battery in the key & it was fine! Try your other key, it's worth a shot!

Wow! I just swapped mine over! I wasn't aware it could cause problems! Kinda glad, I would never have done it!
