I'm having some issues with my driver 's door on my pre facelift a3 57 plate.

When I unlock the car(single or double click) occasionally the drivers door won't unlock. When this happens I just lock it up and then unlock again and usually it opens the second/third time. It's never an issue with locking-just unlocking

All other doors lock as normal.

Anyone experienced this before and know how to fix it?

I read it might be the solenoid although it's odd that's it's not a problem when locking the car.

Could it be the connectors needing a clean? Or is there a separate fuse?

Did you do a vag com scan? Are there any fault codes?

Not yet done the scan with VCDS but will try it tomorrow-I rember from a previous scan that it threw up a fault code with my rear left door locking mechanism but that had never actually caused me any problems..

let us know what fault codes you're getting.

So I have just scanned my car with VCDS and this is the fault code that has come up - any ideas what to do about it? Its odd because sometimes my door opens fine and other times it doesn't..

Interestingly, VCDS also threw up another fault code in relation to the left rear door, although I have never had any problems with this door..

Any ideas what I should do about this? As I said I only get intermittent problems with it.

Is it a case of cleaning the connections or do I need to buy a new motor/solenoid?

Bump..

This is really starting to annoy the hell out of me! Every time I try and open my driver door it doesn't unlock!

Anyone have any experience with fixing this issue?

I don't really want to trek to the Audi garage to pay a fortune:(

I have this issue to but on my passenger side door, also my fuel cap doesn't lock. my cousin also has this on his a4, he has to open the door manually with a key. its a common issue on audi's apparently, he says its the locking mechanism. his has sorted itself out in the hot weather we had recently,
