Driver Door Drop!

Howdy y'all.
So the other week, I noticed my drivers door has dropped. Now, I didn't notice this upon purchase and I went over the machine with a fine tooth comb to try and knock the guy down as much as I could...which was hard as I was lucky that it really is mint throughout....
So, here's the question - Has anyone adjusted their doors? Its dropped approx. 3-5mm and it its catching the clasp and catch mechanism, chewing the door catch and marking the clasp. It visibly lifts into place when you watch it being closed however, upon inspection, and moving the door (lifting and lowering by hand), there is no play at all, in fact, I'm lifting and lowering the whole car (obviously not much, due to the fact I'm not The Hulk), with the door. There appears to have been no previous adjustments as all paint work is intact and grubby.
It's really doing my nut in, but before I go to a garage, I'd like to see if its doable. YouTube isn't really throwing me any bones...so ask on here I have!

Any help greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

does the door look out of line before it is closed

Yes, as if you just softly press the door toward the catch, it is low and won’t push into the catch... in effect, I’m bumping the door onto the catch and forcing it to locate. It’s not as bad as that sounds, for example my girlfriend wouldn’t notice it...but she wouldn’t notice the ****** wheel shaking off...and I tune in to every little thing on my machines so it’s wrecking me!
I’ll double check though. Are you asking as you think the clasp on the car body pillar maybe set high? Can that be adjusted?! I just want to know if I can have a stab at adjusting it or this needs to go into a garage....

Cheers

I haven’t looked, but I know some cars the catch height can be adjusted. It shouldn’t be much to have the door adjusted in a garage though

I'd suggest finding either a bodyshop or chipsaway or equivalent they'll be more use to removing and refitting the doors than a regular garage.

Depends what's either failed or moved, could be the pins failed or the hinge plate moved, they would be able to identify the issue better.

@annodomini2 .
Yeah I'm giving our local coachworks a bell today about it...they recently refurbed my wheels and did a very good job, so see if they can help with this.

Cheers for input mate.

Just an UPDATE, door is now re-aligned.
Took it to local coachworks, they said it looks like it had previously been adjusted (paint on a nut was broken), mostly likely due to door stretch, as in caught in the wind and swung open sort of thing.
Anyway, they sorted it for me, through the wheel arch and adjusting hinges.

£20 fix, priceless stopping the torment on my perfection nerves.

Cheers guys for input.
