DPF deletion

Had an interesting chat with my local garage Midland VW the end of last week.

I'm considering deleting the dpf from my system and remapping to get some more horses. I mentioned this and was told not to, reason being that they are looking at adding the dps to the MOT so if the car was built with one it needs it to pass the MOT

looks like were going the way of the rest of Europe

Been a fair few posts about this recently, have a quick search. Smoke test will apply to vehicles Jul 2008+, DPF/ECU checks won't be included.

as Jrsteeve said, not to worry unless your car is made AFTER july 2008 onwards.
