DPF delete a5 3.0tdi

Hi lads, got a 07 3.0tdi sport manual, and the DPF light is coming on not all the time but frequent , looking at getting it took out gutted and back in, and a map, anyone else done this? and what results did you get? Sound wise, performance wise? I just see it as getting rid of a trouble maker to be honest, thank you Jack.
