Downpipe fitting price?

What would everyone say is a good price for fitting a downpipe to a A3 Quattro?
I just got quoted £245

Would you say that's a fair price

I fitted a down pipe myself with a friend... it was ridiculously fidgety, lots of cut knuckles later it was in.. so i would say that's not too bad, how ever i wouldn't pay that myself..

Hahaha, i suppose if you know what you're doing and if you can give the original down pipe the disc-cutter treatment an hour is Do-able, however... i do struggle to see how

According to a local specialist its a verry fiddly pain in the **** job!

£150-200 would sound more reasonable to me

I did mine myself and wasn't to bad at all really, I used a ramp and didn't take long.

I'll give most things a go.

Well I ended up going to a place called styledynamics but I think the sound is terrible sounds like a empty tin with nails in
I thought a downpipe was supposed to make a car sound deeper?
And also I still don't have any dsg (farts)

Mines a sport-cat sounds no louder just a deeper tone under boost.

I've got a scorpion Decat, and the note actually changes after 100 miles or so, mine was brand new and sounded weird when i fitted it, but now it sounds great!

Not sure mate to be honest sounds like they need running in a bit from the posts above. I'm running stock system rear of my DP with no issues but a different exhaust to yours.

I've got the original DP and cat in my garage, complete, and paid £60 for the pleasure!

Yea to quiet that's why I thought adding a downpipe might give it a bit more sound
There's no drone but it just sounds like ****
I'm going to give it a week or two and see how it sounds then

My de-cat is with the standard exhaust and I have found with time it has got a lot better even today I heard some newer tones.

I was looking into this myself I was quoted £150 for a Milltek down pipe by RJ Performance in Birmingham, they are well known for their quality workmanship!

think I want to get a cat back now but can't find any that are for the 1.8tfsi Quattro have you got any videos of the sound of your bcs system?

My Decat is on an S3 which may be why i don't get the tin can noise, how ever i'm not an exhaust expert so i'm not too sure..

I do mate, if you pm me your number I'm happy to send a video, its not the best of quality. If you check BCS automotives youtube channel and listen to the Leon 280/S3 8V/MK7 GTI/R's that would give you an idea of what it sounded like. I just had a catback on mine and highly recommended it.

What I would mention though is that as the BCS powervalve exhaust is boost actuated, in stock tune the 1.8 tfsi doesnt boost isnt quite enough to open the valves as you drive spiritedly so it just sounds 'good'. With a tune, this really wakes up the exhaust system and really does make it sound awesome.
Just my 2p if you decide to go down the BCS powervalve route
