I bought the car with the key fob not unlocking the car, I thought a new battery was needed so didnt bother me much but I bought a battery today and was putting it in and noticed its quite oxidized as if the key has been underwater, anyway changed the battery and tried syncing it with the car with no luck (tried all methods). To me, it looks like its seen water at some point. Also ive been looking at buying a new key, the broken(?) key has 434MHZ on it but can only find 433.97MHZ im guessing that wont work on my car ?
Looks goosed. I can supply aftermarket keys if required. Otherwise just search under correct part number will be fine. 434mhz
How much for a key? It doesn't bother me because it still starts the car so might buy one next week when I have time to learn how to adapt it with VCDS.
Best to text or call in week with reg and location. 07748114114 Ull need more than vcds to code the immobiliser in but remote will be ok
Cheers for the number, and the keyshell itsself is in really good condition so was hoping to just put the old key and immo. on top of the new fob
As with everyone else... id always advise a spare key if your messing about with the only key. The stress and cost involved are far higher if you lose them all.
Have you tried Q20 spray on the key. I tried it last night after seeing this post as my key fell into the sea about two years ago and stopped working once the oxidation set in. Gave it a few sprays and god be damned it worked again. Sent from my MI 4W using Tapatalk
