I've just started investigating prices as I'm looking to place my order in January. So far Carwow are showing discounts between 0-3.1% and DriveTheDeal are showing about 5%. Both of which are fairly disappointing :(. I'll start looking around a few dealers in a couple of months when I'm serious about getting it.

I wouldn't say disappointing, more expected!

It's a brand new model release, one that only hit the roads yesterday in the hands of customers and people already expect substantial discounts. You pay a price to be the first in an exclusive car.

Oh yeh don't get me wrong. I completely understand that it has literally just started hitting the roads and therefore I wouldn't expect Audi to just start dropping the prices. Otherwise you'd see them everywhere :D I'll still order mine knowing I could probably wait a bit longer and get a better price. Like you said...exclusivity=premium price.

One of the dealers I spoke to here yesterday hadnt been discounting (and just sold one at 55k they had in from a guy swapping his R8 v10 for one!)
That dealer said he couldnt get me one now for a year due to dealer allocation (they were bit smaller than the normal group dealers).

If the dealers only have certain allocations and they are all selling without discounts, no wonder they arent fussed about much of a discount.
Guy that picked one up at the showroom the day I was there had driven something like 8 hours to get it.

None. I was lucky to get one when I did considering I didn't order one.

The RS3 has never been available here, and even then they had just landed a week prior.

Plus (in the UK) they won't / shouldn't discount them at all. It is usually a limited run model. My usual place was well hacked off that I got a £1k discount on my PFL and even commented that it was "not on" as Audi had told them not to discount the RS3.

Oh god haha, only very few dealers offer discount and it's very much out of their own pot not Audi's.

My dealer had an allocation of 4, all went within a couple of weeks and there are no more yet.

I've been offered £3.4k off a new factory order with a £51k spec so deals are out there but this is 100+ miles away so you have to hunt around.

That's not good enough? I'd rather travel half an hour further and save a few grand!

I got offered 8k off but I had to go to Germany and carry it back on my shoulders and build some of it.

3.4k is amazing amount off. Also crazy they are discounting something in demand so much

Which dealer is this?

If these discounts are available to Joe Public then surely we are all here to help one another? The name of the dealer should be supplied, preferably the name of the salesman, his email address and proof of the actual quotation. If dealers are discounting these then there should be no secrecy, they work to sales targets, the more sales, discounted or not, the better for them. It's actually good free advertising for the dealership and that particular salesman.

I got a good discount off mine but there's no point in posting the details as it's through an Audi employees friends and family offer and not open to Joe Public.

Come on guys, post the details.

Although discounts are good, all they do is harm the residual values. I wouldn't be surprised if the 3/4yr GFV's soon plummet if people are managing 6-7% off their orders already.

How much are you guys paying on a 4 year pcp?

Depends on your deposit, discount (if any) mileage and spec.

I'm paying £130pm on a £53k spec but putting in a great whacking deposit on mine at £23k+.

I managed to get 3.5k off at my local dealer. I have had 2 cars off them in 2 years though, so might go some way to explaining it. Still, it seems I should be very happy with that looking at what some are getting!

I got a £1000 off and free GAP and paint protection with tyre insurance, only because its my 4th car thru the same dealer.
Done a 4yr PCP at 7000miles a year.
£11,000 up front and£450 per month, with a GTV of £23,000 after the 4yrs. PCP interest rate is 6%.
Expecting delivery next week!

I was kindly pointed towards this dealer by a fellow member of this very site.

As for the list of "requirements" including proof of the actual quote, I don't have to prove anything and was mearly giving people a heads up that deals can be done.

Just questioning the cloak and dagger hidden PM stuff.

Just post the dealer and salesman info so that everyone else can benefit from the same discount.

It's just being helpful that's all. Some people are paying full list for these, I'm sure they would also like the same level of discount you have been given.

There was nothing cloak and dagger about my original post, I was making a factual statement about what I have been offered.

It's not my place to post the details as I am not the original point of contact with the dealer, end of. It's not a question of not being helpful but one of curtesy to the person who introduced me to them.

Joe public here, all are welcome to PM me for details, my dealer doesn't want it posting openly. Don't bother messaging me if you require my quotation as proof, it won't be forthcoming.

Fair enough if the dealer doesn't want it in the public domain.

Out of interest, what are the lead times like ordering today? Jan/Feb18?

OK speaking as someone who did not expect and did not get discount I cannot see the logic of dealers offering one on RS3 when the production run is expected to be limited and delivery dates if ordering now are into next year, where is the logic of discounting something that is in short supply and in high demand?

I ordered 2/3 weeks ago and I am looking at March.

Some dealers may have allocation left if they are more remote - and some dealers may even modify their stock orders for you, I know one that told me they would but that car was about to go to build so it couldn't be amended now.

My PFL was a cancelled order although still Spec amendable on the system hence I got a small discount.

Because they still want to sell another car. To bluntly state in someone's face "No Discount" get's a lot of people's back's up, as we all expect "a deal" on a new car. Especially when you're being asked to cough up £51-52k for a decent spec. It's an Audi at the end of the day, not a Ferrari or a Porsche GT car.

Discounts will be hard to get as the car has just come out, and it is selling itself to those who want to be the first to own one. Some will get a discount as they have a very good relationship with their dealer, as they may have bought many car's from them over the years, so the dealer doesn't want to risk them going elsewhere. So knocking £1000 off or whatever on a new RS3 now, is better in the long term, as they'll make that back over the years.

It'll be interesting to know what the dealer is making on the RS3. They obviously make money (think it's 10%) on all new cars, so there is always room for discounting. Maybe the margins on the RS3 is less? Who knows.

It's always better to wait a few months after the car has been released to start looking for decent discounts. It's always better too when another manufacturer has just released the next `In the moment` car, as this then take demand off the car you want.

From what my dealer has said, it looks like they may have a pot they can use for discounts. Once the pot has gone, they are discounting from their profits. My dealer referred to it as "support". Wasn't clear what he meant so I am making assumptions on this. What he said was the support has been used up, so he couldn't offer the same deal he gave me any more.

As for some dealers discounting and some not, I'm in the North East. There's not as much money floating around up here as wages are generally much lower compared to further South. Makes something as pricey as the RS3 a much harder sale.

I'm from the North East too. And Lookers are taking over. They are renowned for little discounts. I bought my S3 from Teesside Audi. But now they are part of the Lookers group, I'll probably end up buying elsewhere on any future Audi.

The Greed For Speed
Just checked on DriveTheDeal & I'm getting the following discounts

£2115 discount on a base RS3 saloon
£2058 discount on a base RS3 Sportback

https://www.ukcarbroker.co.uk
£2568 discount on a base RS3 SB
£2625 discount on a base RS3 saloon

Is that ONLY for a base spec - are you able to add options?
Will **** a lot of people off if you can also spec them.. nice saving.

6.9% with 3 year gap, paint protection and 5 year warranty extension. I've known the sales manager for years though.

T-Cut King !
Carlisle Audi are offering around 5% and there quite a few in stock available with slightly more discount

I test drove the new RS3 on Sunday - what a car!
The exhaust inside the cabin wasn't too loud which I was a bit surprised at, but once you had the windows down it was very very loud!
I was offered 5% discount, but the monthlies were too much of a stretch, which was a real shame.
